KANGAR – The anticipation for Islamic Tourism Month 2024 (ITM 2024) was heightened with a soft launch event officiated by the Regent of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail in Kangar, Perlis on Friday (Aug 2).
Emphasising the importance of innovative marketing methods, he highlighted how mastering creative strategies, including the use of social media and artificial intelligence (AI), is crucial for reaching a global audience.
“Whether we are aware of it or not, social media has become the key instrument for promoting our tourism products,” Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra stated during the launch.
The event, attended by dignitaries such as Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil and Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli, underscored the government’s commitment to promoting the Muslim-friendly tourism sector in Malaysia.
ITM 2024 is set to run from Aug 16 to Sept 30, targeting 250 strategic partners to offer a range of enticing tourism deals to tourists, industry players, and entrepreneurs.
The Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC), an entity under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, announced that the event would feature activities like the Mosque Open Day, providing guided tours and engaging activities at major mosques nationwide.
