Few ingredients have the power to instantly make a meal better quite like cheese.
Whether it’s stretching over a hot pizza, melting into a grilled sandwich or adding that extra comfort to a baked dish, good cheese has a way of turning ordinary food into something memorable.
And now, Australians’ beloved dairy brand Bega is bringing more cheesy possibilities to Malaysian kitchens.

Recently launched at an exclusive culinary gathering at Botanica+Co, Bamboo Hills, Bega introduced its latest Shredded Cheese range to the local market, offering three versatile variants — Mozzarella, Cheddar and Cheese Melt. The new range is designed to cater to both home cooks and food service professionals who are constantly looking for ingredients that deliver consistency and quality.
Produced in Malaysia using quality cheese sourced from New Zealand and Europe, the products are also Halal-certified and suitable for vegetarians, making them an easy addition to a wide range of dishes and dietary preferences.
But this wasn’t just another product launch.
Guests were treated to an immersive culinary experience where specially curated dishes highlighted the cheese’s melt, stretch and flavour profile. Live cooking demonstrations and interactive tasting sessions showcased how the products can elevate everything from comfort food favourites to creative menu innovations.
The event also served up a rather impressive achievement.

Bega Group was officially recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records for creating the country’s Largest Oven Baked Cheese Melt Sandwich Formation, a feat that took more than five hours to complete using various Bega products.
What made the record even more meaningful was the collaboration behind it.
The initiative was carried out together with Silent Teddies, a social enterprise dedicated to empowering the deaf and hard-of-hearing community through employment opportunities and social inclusion programmes. All the sandwiches produced during the record attempt were later distributed to charitable organisations, turning a culinary celebration into a community-driven effort that also helped minimise food wastage.
With more than 125 years of dairy heritage behind it, Bega continues to strengthen its footprint across Southeast Asia, and Malaysia remains an important market thanks to its vibrant food culture and growing appetite for quality ingredients.
The new Bega Shredded Cheese range is now available through selected retailers and food service channels nationwide. So, if your comfort food often involves an extra sprinkle of cheese, this may just be your sign to stock up.
Because sometimes, happiness really does come grated./LOCCO
